If you screw it up, it's bricked. And you're obviously buying it off the grey market- so anything goes wrong, you're left with an iPaperweight. anyway..if you've got the money to throw away to get into Apple's locked in business model (when any other phone can do all those things without requiring a jailbreak) for little more than a pretty interface, more power to you. IMO WinMobile/Symbian offer far more flexibility, hackability, are fully pre-emptive multitasking OSes (run any number of apps in the background silently) and most important- are fully open to use and do not restrict you in any way right out of the box. So yo don't have to flash the firmware/jailbreak just to be able to install apps (1st gen iphone) or do video recording (pre 3GS versions) or anything else.
